An excellent choice for a relaxing time

My family and I (incl 2 teenagers) had a great stay at La Bastidette in July 2011. The house is very well maintained and in a privileged position owing to its history with some superb views out to the distant Sea. The grounds are not huge but pretty and colourful and the pool was excellent. We particularly enjoyed the new kitchen and al fresco eating area whilst the separate pool room is a fantastic option for a teen-ager. Very clean and well equipped (including wi-fi and Sky+). The area is quiet but there are some seriously good restaurants nearby and parts of Magnanosc are very quaint indeed. Close to Grasse (if you really want to go there) and Valbonne, and maybe 30 mins from the coast. This is a great choice if you want to be close to it all without actually being in the noise and chaos of the resorts. Neil and Helen were kind, gracious and helpfui hosts (some gorgeous paintings of Helen's in the house during our stay) and I hope the new owners will keep this up. A great place for a relaxing family holiday.

Perfect holiday villa.

We stayed at La Bastidette for a month during the summer of 2010, and it was, as advertised, a beautiful, quiet, well-maintained villa with fabulous views across the valleys to the sea. The location is excellent, near Grasse and Valbonne, with an easy 10-minute walk into the village with its market, supermarket, boulangeries etc. The pool was used constantly (with heating for wimps like us), and there was always competition among our guests as to who should have the room by the pool, as it was so convenient and private. Owners Neil & Helen did all they could to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable, and even the neighbours were friendly! We would thoroughly recommend the villa for a super Provencal holiday.

We stayed a week at Neil and Helen's home and the 3 of us had a wonderful time. Let me start off highlighting the negative elements of our stay. OK this will be easy. There were none.
As to the positive side, well the house offered all that we desired. Beautiful views, nice pool, comfortable beds, very nice and functional kitchen.
The house is very well situated with shops close by. Monaco is 30 minutes away. Italy a little more. Much closer is Nice and charming Valbonne.
Must not forget to mention that we had a very pleasant welcome by the owners with the essentials waiting for us in the refrigerator, and not forgetting Nespresso coffee.
The last words go to how charming and helpful Neil and Helen were during our stay.

La Basidette - A little Jewel in the Riviera

We stayed at La Basidette for 2 weeks last summer and had a truly wonderful holiday. It was everything we wanted from a summer break,stunning sea and mountain views,sunshine all day long from the various terraces, peace and privacy, beautifully finished interiors and easy access to shops, local food markets,restaurants and the airport.
Although we went to the coast and Cannes several times we were always glad to come back to our own lovely pool and the tranquil beauty of the villa.The owners Neil and Helen were very helpful and glad to help and advise when needed.
We will be back!

Lovely house

We stayed at La Bastidette for 14 days during July 09. We were a party of four and had a very pleasant vacation. The owners work with interior design and it certainly shows as the house is beautifully decorated and maintained. There are wonderful views towards the coast from all the rooms and the sunny terraces.
The house is about 10 minutes by car from Grasse and 25 minutes from Cannes & Antibes. The traffic in July/August around all the coastal towns is awful so it was great to be staying just far enough away to avoid the jams and discover some absolutely beautiful hilltop villages a short drive from the house.
On our arrival, the owners took a lot of time to show us around and how everything worked and left us loads of information about the local area which was perfect.
Highly recommended.
